This agreement applies when you install or play PlanetSim, made by Novel Studios. By installing or playing it, you agree to it. If you don't agree, please don't install or play the game. Because you get PlanetSim through Steam, the Steam Subscriber Agreement also applies, and it governs your Steam account, purchases and refunds. Our privacy policy explains how we handle information.
Your license
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install PlanetSim on computers you use and to play it for your own non-commercial entertainment, as long as you follow this agreement. You license the game; you don't buy the game itself or its content.
What you may not do
Except where the law allows it or we agree in writing, please don't:
- copy, sell, rent, lend, sublicense or distribute PlanetSim or any part of it;
- reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble it, or extract its art, sounds, models or code for use elsewhere;
- remove or change copyright, trademark or license notices in it;
- use it to break the law or anyone else's rights.
Videos, streams and screenshots
You're welcome to stream PlanetSim, record videos of it and share screenshots and photo mode pictures, including on monetized channels. Please don't suggest that Novel Studios endorses or sponsors you unless we have agreed to it.
Development builds
PlanetSim is in development. Playtest, beta, demo and Early Access versions may be unfinished, contain bugs and change a lot between updates. Updates may change how the game plays, and saves from earlier versions may stop working. Please keep backups of saves you care about. PlanetSim also contains developer tools, which are off by default; if you turn them on, they may change or break your saves.
Updates and availability
We may update PlanetSim to add content, change features and fix problems, and Steam may install these updates automatically. We work to keep the game working, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors, and we may change or stop supporting features or versions of it.
Our content and third-party content
PlanetSim, its name, artwork, models, sounds and code belong to Novel Studios or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. Some parts come from third parties and are used under their licenses, listed in the game's credits and on our credits & licenses page. Nothing in this agreement limits the rights those open licenses give you over the components they cover.
Feedback
If you send us ideas, suggestions, bug reports or survey answers, from the game or by email, we may use them to improve PlanetSim without owing you anything for them. Thank you; they help a lot.
Ending this agreement
This agreement lasts until it ends. You can end it at any time by uninstalling PlanetSim and deleting its files. It ends automatically if you break it, and then you must stop playing and uninstall the game. The sections about our content, disclaimers and liability continue after it ends.
Disclaimer and liability
PlanetSim is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, Novel Studios gives no warranties beyond those in this agreement, is not liable for indirect or consequential losses or for lost saves or progress, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for PlanetSim. Nothing in this agreement limits rights you have under consumer laws that can't be waived, such as statutory guarantees where you live.
Changes to this agreement
We may update this agreement when the game or the law changes. We will update the date at the top of this page and tell you in the game or on this website about important changes. Continuing to play after a change means you accept the updated agreement.
